After debuting two new videos about the aluminum and stainless steel Apple Watches during today’s keynote event, the Cupertino electronics maker published both videos to its website and YouTube channel, along with a third that was skipped during the presentation which explains the process behind the gold Apple Watch Edition.
You can watch the aluminum video on the Apple Watch Sport page (or embedded above), while the stainless steel version can be found on the standard Apple Watch site (embedded below).

The gold video, which wasn’t shown during today’s event, can be found prominently featured on the Apple Watch Edition page and embedded below. In the video, Apple design boss Jony Ive says that the decision to create a gold model came from a desire to serve a wide variety of personal styles.

Both watch colors are custom alloys created by Apple to be “twice as hard as standard gold.” The gold is then cast into solid ingots rather than the watch shape. The watches and accessories are machined from those ingots after careful inspection for flaws. The watches are then hand-polished.
