Apple Pay Adds Over 30 New Banks Credit Unions

A number of additional banks and credit unions across the United States have now turned on support for Apple Pay including Synchrony Bank which backs Walmart and other retail credit cards, NASA Federal Credit Union, and many more. Earlier this month, Apple Pay went live for the popular mobile-based Simple Bank for the first time. Apple Pay in stores and within apps is available for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users, while iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 supports Apple Pay within compatible apps. Apple Pay is also available for use in stores with the Apple Watch which works with iPhone 5 and later. As always, you can find our running list of merchants and apps that accept Apple Pay here including the recently added Best Buy app with support coming to stores later this year. Discover has also announced that its cardholders will be able to use Apple Pay later this year.
