Apple Pay is currently rolling out in waves across the United States with Visa, MasterCard, and American Express supported. Apple CEO Tim Cook said earlier this year that about 750 banks and credit unions were signed on to roll out support, and Cook raised that number to 2,000 institutions earlier this month.
The Apple chief executive also announced plans to launch Apple Pay support through the federal government with many national parks accepting the payment type later this year and cards issued for social security payments and veteran benefits soon supporting Apple Pay.
